PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

MASAZANE EXPEDITIONS provides four (4) main Professional Services. Each incorporates the expertise of Dave and Jacqui as well as other professionals. They are:

EXPEDITIONS INTO AFRICA:

Although MASAZANE EXPEDITIONS initially focused on the countries neighbouring RSA, we have focussed our attention on the Central and East African countries as well as overland expeditions from RSA to London.

Our Year Planner only indicates these extended planned expeditions that have set departure and return dates. Other shorter expeditions are also still planned and undertaken on request - there is a vast list of destinations and optional activities that can be chosen from to fulfil that dream holiday.

Expeditions can be specially arranged with a specific route for a specific group. Clients interested in a chartered expedition should contact us  for planning and a quotation.

The following is an incomplete list of activities which can be arranged for interested clients (depending on the expedition chosen) : white water rafting; elephant back rides; helicopter flights; Bungi jumping; sunset boatcruise; hot air/Helium balloon flights; canoeing; game drives; nature boatcruise; scuba diving; fishing; climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, chimpanzee trekking, gorilla trekking, etc.

4X4 TRAILS AND OVERLAND (ADVENTURE) TOURIST GUIDE COURSE:

MASAZANE EXPEDITIONS obtained SATOUR accreditation as a training institution in June 2000 to present the Professional 4x4 Trails and Overland Tourist Guide Course. We obtained THETA Accreditation (Interim) in July 2001. The course is very comprehensive and is presented with the help of other specialists.  The course is designed to further train and register existing 4x4 operators, to train new candidates and to educate any enthusiast who wishes to do the course for interest. The course enables all participants to share their personal experiences and add to the contents of the course.

The manual given to each participant is updated on  a regular basis. General Tourist Guide Attributes; 4x4 Driver Training; Bush Mechanics; Cooking in the Bush; First Aid with respect to African diseases; Survival; Expedition Planning and Organisation; Marketing; Navigational Techniques; Communications; Environmental Aspects, Photography, Geology, etc. are some of the subjects covered during the course. All participants have to complete three project questions and a written exam. There is also a very important practical component to the course where guide skills, etc. are assessed.

EXPEDITION PLANNING AND ARRANGEMENTS:

MASAZANE EXPEDITIONS have planned and organised many expeditions for various clients to various destinations especially Namibia and Zimbabwe. We finalise the itinerary according to the client's preferences and then make all the necessary bookings for a smooth running expedition without one of the guides of MASAZANE EXPEDITIONS . We use our knowledge and experience to make the expedition as smooth running as humanly possible without physically having one of our guides present on the expedition. Over time, a fairly large database of GPS co-ordinates have been accumulated and these are also available.

CORPORATE EXPEDITIONS:

These expeditions are much shorter than the expeditions into Africa and can range from a weekend to a week or whatever the requirement.  MASAZANE EXPEDITIONS have various destinations that are essentially designed for corporate groups but that are available for any group of clients interested in a shorter expedition.

All expeditions are custom made to suit the client - from the itinerary to the meals. MASAZANE EXPEDITIONS are very flexible and will "go that extra mile" for that special need of a client.

Groups looking for that breakaway with a difference or that special incentive or who require a place away from it all to accomplish synergy, should contact MASAZANE EXPEDITIONS for more details.
