INFORMATION ON THE SERVICES PROVIDED BY MASAZANE EXPEDITIONS

You will find that you make friends for life on our expeditions. Join us on one of our expeditions so that we can "get to know each other" in the many extraordinary places that have been revealed in Africa

The following are standard services offered by MASAZANE EXPEDITIONS on all our expeditions:

·         Dave, Jacqui and all other guides are registered with the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism (DEAT) as 4x4 Trails and Overland (Adventure) Tourist Guides.

·         MASAZANE EXPEDITIONS handles all the documentation involved in an expedition across the RSA border.  RSA passport holders are provided with all the visa application forms, forms involving their vehicle and any other documentation they require.  Non-RSA passport holders should contact their nearest travel agent for required visas but we can assist with any concerns.

·         Comprehensive pre-departure information is forwarded to all clients booked on any of our expeditions - this includes a list of requirements, etc.

·         All guides are proficient in English and Afrikaans and are capable of identifying many fauna and flora, etc.  A German speaking guide can also be arranged on special request.

·         All guides are experienced 4x4 drivers with advanced 4x4 vehicle recovery skills.

·         Dave van Graan has been a well trained registered paramedic since 1988 and you therefore have peace of mind on your African experience since medical services are inadequate to non-existent in most African countries.  Comprehensive first aid training is a prerequisite to registration as a Tourist Guide.

·         A comprehensive medical first aid kit with a wide variety of medical equipment and medicines is taken on all expeditions.

·         4x4 Vehicle recovery equipment, e.g. winch, highlift jack, air jack, ropes, etc., is taken on all expeditions.

·         A small library is taken on all expeditions should you wish to obtain more information on the animals, area, etc.

·         A substantial dinner is provided every night and trouble is taken to ensure a tasty, wholesome meal is prepared.  These meals can vary from a braai to a two course meal - so remember to take your pudding bowl along.  (Please see note below.)

·         Reservations are made where possible before departure.  Please bear in mind that we make reservations very seldom due to the nature of our expeditions.  Road conditions can change overnight and makes keeping to reservation dates very difficult.

·         All "negotiations" resulting from "bribes", etc. are diplomatically handled.  MASAZANE EXPEDITIONS can make all the necessary arrangements for any optional activities, e.g. Serengeti Balloon Safari, climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, Bungi jumping, etc.

·         All the cooking equipment (e.g. pots, pans, gas, gas stoves, etc.) is supplied, should you require these to prepare your breakfast and/or lunch.

·         Should the expedition be stranded, a 24 hour standby service will make the necessary arrangements with the AA and/or other organisations to assist with a rescue mission back to RSA.

PLEASE NOTE:

There are expeditions where semi-participation forms part of the experience due to the difficulty and length of the expedition.  All services can be adapted to suit your specific needs, e.g. we can cater for three (3) meals per day where requested.
